General Purpose:
Provides complex research, reference and related services to Holland & Hart attorneys, staff and clients to support the business of law and strategic priorities of the firm.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs legal, business, and competitive intelligence research for attorneys, paralegals and support staff, using a variety of electronic and print resources. This can include various types of quick or complex research including case, docket, and filings retrievals, legislative histories, news, public records, and company research.
- Assists with collection development by evaluating new digital & print resources and assessing attorney information needs and usage patterns.
- Aids in orientation of new attorneys & staff on our research services, materials, procedures and policies.
- Supports the Firm’s use of online databases by assisting in training, coordinating training sessions through vendor webinars, and trouble-shooting technical issues.
- Creates current awareness alerts & newsletters for ongoing monitoring of clients, legal news, industries, legislation and subject specialties.
- Creates new accounts and manages passwords for various electronic resources.
- Shares responsibilities for maintaining and updating the Library Intranet pages.
- Stays current with new and developing trends in research, technology and competitive intelligence.
- Participates in projects that increase the value of our research and information services to the Firm.
- Uses workflow software to track and process research requests.
- Records and reports time using firm software in a manner that meets deadlines.
- Other duties as needed to drive to the vision, fulfil the mission and abide by the values of the organization.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):
- Master’s degree in library science (MLS/MLIS) required.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience, preferably in a law firm or other similar setting.
- General knowledge of reference sources in legal and business areas.
- Technological competency with a variety of databases (Lexis, Bloomberg, Courtlink, VitalLaw, EOS, etc.) and proven ability to manage digital resources.
- Ability to think critically, solve complex problems and use discretion in handling confidential matters.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking skills to facilitate presentations.
- Ability to prioritize requests with a high level of competency, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other modern law firm productivity software tools.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

Work Environment:
Professional office atmosphere. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing for prolonged periods. Position may require occasional off-hour meetings and events.

Schedule:
At this time, this position allows for a hybrid schedule and in-office days are expected to be Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Additional days in-office may be required depending on business need and the demands of specific tasks. The hybrid work structure may change at any time, including the number of in-office days requirement.

Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. The Colorado Salary Range is $59,478.17 – $99,130.28 annually. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
