POSITION: Technical Services & Acquisitions Librarian (26L06)
LOCATION: Denver, Colorado
TYPE: Full-time and permanent with a comprehensive benefits package.
PAY: CL 27/28 under the Court Personnel System – Pay Table DEN* 27/1 ($66,600) – CL 27/61 ($108,262) 28/1 ($79,814) – CL 28/61 ($129,777). Final placement within the classification and salary range will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This supervisory librarian position oversees technical services staff responsible for acquisitions, serials management, cataloging, collection maintenance, and e-resource management for materials procured for the Headquarters library and for six satellite libraries located throughout the circuit. The Technical Services Librarian is also the Library’s primary Acquisitions Librarian, responsible for all related legal resource
procurement activities. This position may assist with setting library policies and administration-related projects.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Library Science, or equivalent, from an ALA-accredited institution AND at least two years of professional library law experience.

Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge of bibliographic metadata standards, rules, and tools; proficiency working with resource discovery tools, link resolvers, and cataloging legal resources; experience supporting or managing an integrated library system; experience managing procurement, acquisitions and related systems—including budgeting—of legal resources; the ability to oversee and implement purchasing, licensing and facilitating access to e-resources; ability to work with a variety of court personnel, including judges, law clerks, attorneys and others outside the library environment; and, excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Candidates will be expected to work in a collaborative team environment and will be expected to excel in an environment subject to government procurement and audit protocols. Additional duties as assigned.

Ability to handle occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Travel may be required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; supervisory experience in any technical services-related area; experience providing legal research and reference services; experience with the SirsiDynix Symphony integrated library system.
