For the spring CoALL Book Club, we’ve selected When Books Went to War, a history of the Armed Services Editions, the books printed with funding from the government and shipped to soldiers during World War II. The American Library Association initiated a program earlier in the war to send donated books to the troops, and the War Department and a coalition of publishers continued the effort with ASEs.
